Munich Flagship Store in Barcelona by Deardesign

Created by Deardesign designer, Ignasi Llauradó and Eric Dufourd, This Munich Flagship store is located in the shopping center L’illa Diagonal in Barcelona. This barcelona’s own sports shoe house Munich was established by the Berneda family in 1939. The company continues to stay on top of things and in the 1970s, Munich made tracks with the Made in Barcelona footwear line and the X logo.
Dark-glass surfaces, mirrors, metal trees and cage-like boxes hanging from the ceiling, recreate a carefree, experimental and impermanent atmosphere. The angular and clunky space with its hard edges and seemingly moving parts give the store a playful, skate-style look.

Burdifilek merged an abundance of natural elements with the contemporary urban playground of the busy downtown. The luxurious textures and the rich tones support the innovative design of the sculptural objects which were custom-designed by very talented and renowned Canadian artists and craftspeople. The Description of this Oaza Zdravlja Pharmacy project by Karim Rashid :

The architectural forms and weight of this space reference the beautiful intricacies of the human body and healing process. Through the use of soft flowing walls and organic shapes a sense of comfort and security is immediately established. Framed by the sweeping curvature of the walls, a simple, yet powerful counter elegantly hovers above the ground plane. This form is symbolic of the journey medication takes through the body’s cellular framework. Beyond this emblematic expression, the organic counter is also the literal location that provides the medicinal means to recovery and relief.
